Step 1 of 3
Laser treatment for hair reduction is still a relatively new medical cosmetic procedure and long-term studies are ongoing, though no long term side effects have been discovered to date. • Most clients require 6-10 treatments to achieve permanent hair reduction of approximately 80% or greater. • Permanent hair reduction may not be achieved by all clients. • Clients with fine facial hair or clients experiencing hormonal imbalances may require additional or ongoing treatments. • It is recommended that females with hormonal imbalances such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome consult an Endocrinologist for specialist evaluation. They may require medical treatment as well as ongoing treatment in order to achieve best possible results. • Clients commencing treatment during puberty may need additional treatments as their hair growth may not be fully developed due to changing hormone levels. • Clients achieve best results if they have treatments according to the recommended treatment regime – every 6-8 weeks. For facial hair it is recommended to treat every 4 weeks. Clients who leave long periods between treatments will not achieve optimal results.
Do NOT Expose the treatment area to the sun or solarium 4-6 weeks prior to treatment. We Recommend you use sunblock with SPF 30+ (available in store) at all times. • Do not use spray tan or tanning creams at least two weeks prior to treatment all traces of tan have to be removed. The procedure may have to be postponed if you have a tan. • Any form of tanning may lead to complications and side effects such as hyper and hypo pigmentation.
• Do not wax, tweeze or bleach the hair for 4 weeks before and during treatment. You may shave in-between treatments. • Do not use prescription Retin-A for two weeks prior to treatment. • Do not use Roaccutane for at least 6 months prior to treatment.
Redness is a common side effect and may last a few hours to a couple of days after treatment • Apply Eden Skin soothing gel as recommended twice a day for 3 – 4 days until the skin has recovered. It is essential that you purchase Eden Skin formulated products for best results • Until redness has completely subsided, avoid the following: 1. Make up over treated area – Mineral make up is OK 2. Perfumed lotions or creams, exfoliants, loofah sponges, Retin-A products etc. 3. Very hot and very cold water – use tepid water 4. Shaving 5. Swimming in pools and spas with multiple chemicals 6. Activities that cause heavy perspiration 7. Sun exposure of the treatment area (ongoing)) • In case of crusting or swelling of the skin apply soothing gel as recommended and advise us immediately. DO NOT pick or scratch the area as this may lead to infection and scarring. • Over the next 2-4 weeks the treated hair will shed and have the appearance of growing hair / stubble. Do not wax or tweeze the hair, allow the hair to fall away by gently exfoliating (once the skin has settled) or you may shave during this period.
1. The procedure is being performed for cosmetic reasons only and the treatment may not produce permanent results. No guarantees of any nature can be made as to the exact results of the procedure 2 While every precaution has been taken to prevent side effects they can and sometimes do occur. They may include mild discomfort, redness, swelling and colour changes such as hyper & hypo pigmentation 3 If skin lightening (hypo pigmentation ) or darkening (hyper pigmentation) occurs, it may take several months to resolve and in some cases may be permanent 4 Mild crusting and blistering may occur. Infection and scarring is a rare possibility and occurs in a small % of the population 5 I must not expose my skin to any form of tanning during treatment and 4 – 6 weeks prior to any treatment, this includes sun exposure and solariums. Spray tan must be completely removed prior to treatment but may be used in-between treatments 6 I must advise the clinic of any sun exposure I have had as it increases the risk of any possible side effects and the risk of hyper / hypo pigmentation 7 I must wear eye protection as instructed by the operator 8 I have read and received a copy of the Client Information sheet , after care instructions and a copy of this Consent Form 9 The procedure has been explained to me and all my questions have been answered to my satisfaction 10 I accept all risks of treatment and consent to undergoing treatment 11 I accept that my pre-paid treatments are not transferable or refundable 12 I acknowledge that I have been recommended by the therapist to use Eden Laser Clinics’ Soothing Gel, Post Laser Hair removal treatment and that the Eden Skin Products have been specifically formulated for optimum results. 13 I understand that using other poducts purchased elsewhere may not offer the same result and/or potentially irritate the treated area
I am not tanned from any source, including sun exposure, tanning lotions, spray tan solariums etc. • I do not have a history of abnormal scarring • I have not taken the drug Roaccutane in the last 6 months • I have not had any deep chemical peels or laser resurfacing in the last 6 months • I am aged 18 years or over (otherwise guardian to sign) • I am not pregnant
